Gopal Lama – Trustee Chair
Gopal founded the Yangrima School in 1989. After completing an MBA in the UK, Gopal served as a Manager for NHS Scotland for 8 years. Since returning to Nepal, he founded Just Nepal Foundation, an education focused NGO and has an interest in sustainable tourism and the circular economy.

Tashi Lama, Trustee -Secretary
Tashi is an alumnus of Yangrima School. Tashi is a social activist who has served in many social organizations including Hyolmo Foundation, Nepal Hyolmo Social Service Center, Mountain Spirit etc. Currently Tashi serves as the Executive Director of HEAL Nepal, an NGO working in the field of education, health and income generation.

Nima Lama, Trustee -Treasurer
Nima is an alumnus of Yangrima School. Nima has been serving as the Principal of Yangrima School since it restarted in 2009. Nima has the overall responsibility for the Yangrima School and also oversees the operation of its sister company Yangrima Eco-Lodge. Nima is a trained Permaculture practitioner.

Chesang Dongba Lama, Trustee -Member
Chesang Dongba is a local farmer and the Chair of the Buffer zone committee of the Langtang National Park. All of Chesang’s children graduated from Yangrima School. As a long term parent, a local community leader and as a Trustee, Chesang Dongba has an important role in bringing Yangrima School closer to the local communities.

Yangzen Lama, Trustee -Member
Yangzen is a former Teacher at Yangrima School. Yangzen is a social activist with expertise in gender equality, advocacy and support for teenage girls. Working for ‘Her Turn’ Yangzen has rescued, supported and helped reintegrate many vulnerable girls especially from rural mountain districts of Nepal. Currently, Yangzen lives in Canada.

Chheten Lama, Trustee -Member
Chheten is an alumna of Yangrima School. Cheten lived and worked in London for many years before returning to Nepal. Chheten is involved in many social organizations, is a full-time mother of 2 teenage boys, an active PTA (Parents Teacher Association) member and operates an Airbnb service from her home in Kathmandu.

Chesang Lama, Trustee -Member
Chesang Lama is an alumnus of Yangrima School. Currently Chesang is serving as the Senior HR Manager at the Everest Bank. Chesang has been instrumental since the reopening of Yangrima School in 2009. As a trustee Chesang has a key role in making Yangrima a great place to live and work.
