Volunteer Opportunities

Yangrima School started getting its International Volunteers from 1989 through Canadian Crossroads International (CCI) and later Gap Activity Projects (GAP) based in the United Kingdom.

Angela Stadel and Colin Touchie were the first Canadian volunteers whereas Nick Lunch and Tim Kruger were some of the earliest volunteers in the UK. Below are some of the volunteers who have served at Yangrima School in the past.

Later in the mid-90’s Yangrima School started receiving Teacher Training Students from Danish Universities for their Practice teaching assignments who worked as volunteers. Most of these students were from Aalborg Seminarium and Vordingborg Seminarium.

And we also received 20-60 years old independent volunteers from different countries who spent 3-6 month at Yangrima School and learnt more about the community, life, school and also helped with teaching at school or in the school kitchen garden or administration.
